Verse Progress:
Congratulations!
You reached the Fountain of Living Water by remembering Jeremiah 2:13!
"for my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living water, and hewed out cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that can hold no water." (ESV)
Jeremiah 2:13 tells us that God's people made two big mistakes:
1. They turned away from God, the source of real life and joy (the fountain of living waters).
2. They tried to make their own way without Him, but it didn’t work (broken cisterns). God wants us to come to Him when we’re thirsty — not to try and fix things alone.
What are some ways we try to do things without God? How can we trust Him more today?
